2010 Milestones

Wish you all a very Happy new year 2011.

During the year 2010 we could progress little more with our objectives of preserving the Cultural Hertiage with ancient grandeur by using the traditional materials. Kailasanatha temple works are almost over and we are concentrating to preserve the Vishnu temple(Vittrinda Perumal temple) at Veppattur. It is a challenging work and the preliminary research and archaeological excavation shows that it would be the remaining earliest temple of Tamil Nadu. With all your co-operation and help we hope that we can start the conservation works during the middle of this year and complete it by the end.

We instituted REACH AWARDS to honour the scholars and the Personalities for their outstanding contributions in the file of Heritage conservation.

We also found a taker of our principles in conserving the ancient edifices and Inscriptions. It is the Endowments Department of Andhra Pradesh. The Department lead by the commissioner Shri J.S.V.Prasad considered our methodology in preservation of ancient temples and asked us to prepare a Standard manual for the conservation of temples. With the help of Shri Chandrasekharan our PRO and Shri Ramsundar our founder member we could give them a Standard manual and gave a training on the basic principles of Conservation of temples. Sri Jupalli Krishna Rao, Hon’ble Minister for Endowments A.P released the 2010 version of the manual on 27th Dec. More than 150 staff of AP Govt participated in the training programme at Sri Venkatevara Employees traing Acadamy(SVETA) on 27-28 Dec and later they visited our conservation works at Uttiramerur Kailasanatha temple. They were spell bound to see our contribution to ancient culture and heritage. We hope that these principles will be adhered in the temples of Andhra PRADESH.We may also take up some model works for their guidance in AP.
